Asphalt Driveway Paving Project Breakdown
Step 1: Driveway Demo
For starters, we can see how much this Largo, Fl based driveway was in need of replacement. Often times driveways and parking lots made of asphalt can be repaired. However, the Florida sun is not easy on these surfaces and after time, they eventually begin to crack and deteriorate across the entire area. When this occurs the best solution is a complete deconstruction/removal and complete asphalt paving.

Debris Removal with Bobcat
The proper method of deconstruction begins with the right equipment. In this case a bobcat is used to tear up the old asphalt driveway surface.

Step 2: Prepare the Subsurface
Once the old asphalt is removed, the next step the driveway paving process begins with leveling and prepping the subsurface. A properly prepped sub-surface is the main kay behind a new asphalt driveway (or parking lot) that will stand the test of time.

Step 3: Laying New Asphalt
After the subsurface is fully level and compact, the new asphalt goes on and is quickly leveled and spread. Depending on the size of the surface to be paved this may need to be done in strips roughly ten feet wide, as opposed to doing one extra wide section. This allows enough time to work with the asphalt and make sure it’s properly leveled before moving onto the next section.

Step 4: Leveling and Compacting
Once the first section is laid and evened out, the heavy roller is brought in to fully compact it which helps bond it together, making it an extremely durable surface layer.
Step 5: Final Touch & Compacting
Once the first section is laid and evened out, the heavy roller is brought in to fully compact it which helps bond it together, making it an extremely durable surface layer.
